At almost every corner of the Outer Hebrides there is a spot where the W H Murray quote "Find beauty. Be still" can be applied. But some spots are elevated above the norm. For me Vallay is one of those spots. It isn't somewhere that can be driven past without pausing, even for a few seconds or minutes, to take a little time to be still.
The photograph above was taken last week during a short visit to North Uist, the images below on a stop taken on the way to Harris last year.
The last image was at the top of the list when I began to put together the images for my Cladach | Shore exhibition at Talla na Mara, and is one of my favourites from this location. The exhibition is open until the end of August.
